Alright, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say something blasphemous: Dwight and Angela were the best couple on The Office — don’t @ me.
There, I said it. I know Jim and Pam are fantastic and represent true love, blah blah blah — and, let's not forget about Phyllis and Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration — BUT, Dwight and Angela were quirky and cute and need to be cherished.
Well, the actors who played them — Rainn Wilson and Angela Kinsey — (accidentally) reunited on Conan, and it was everything.
Conan admitted, “You two together on the show…a complete accident. We don't have the imagination to think of that.”
First, Angela talked about the perils of having the same name as her character IRL, and she was honestly so precious about it.
Next, Rainn pleaded with fans of the show to “stop with the terrible Office jokes.”
Rainn continued, “Like, if I tweet about a meal I had, they're like, 'Did you have beets? Were there beets in it? I hope there were beets in it.' It's like, enough already. I love you, but that is just terrible.”
Bad jokes aside, this behind-the-scenes pic Rainn shared with his former co-star hit me right in the feels.
“Had a blast on @TeamCoco with @AngelaKinsey! Boom! Blowing up the internet with some Dwangela!”
Not to mention the super sweet message Angela shared.
“The folks @teamcoco sent me a bunch of photos from last night’s show! I love them! I was so excited to see @rainnwilson that I was a total giddy, chatty mess! I could barely hold a thought in my head. It was surreal to be sitting on a sofa on TV next to my old friend. These days Rainn and I text from time to time, but I had not seen him in person for over a year! I love my Office cast mates so much, and that show was such a special time in my life. I will probably always be giddy when we get to see each other! Thanks for tuning in! #hotmess #conan”
On Wednesday, a clip of Couric’s June 2012 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen began recirculating. During the segment “Plead the Fifth,” one of the things Cohen asked Couric about was her former colleague.
“You co-hosted The Today Show with Matt Lauer for 15 years,” Cohen said, before adding, “What is Matt’s most annoying habit?”
Couric took a beat before responding, “He pinches me on the ass a lot.”
It’s unclear whether she was joking or if she was serious about Lauer groping her constantly while they worked together. Refinery29 reached out to Couric’s team to ask about the clip and a spokesperson declined to comment.
Couric’s Watch What Happens Live interview is far from being the only old video that is being reexamined in the wake of Lauer’s firing. Another 2012 interview, this time between Lauer and actress Anne Hathaway, has also been making rounds on social media as an example of the “warning signs” that existed about him.
